    Tazorac gelTazorac gel is an aqueous and translucent gel that contains Tazarotene as main component.  Tazarotene comes from acetylenic class of retinoids. The chemical formula this agent is: Ethyl 6-[2-(4, 4-dimethylthiochroman-6-yl)-ethynyl] nicotinate. The medication comes in two variants one with the concentration of tazarotene of 0.05% and another with 0.1%. Benzyl alcohol is used as a preservative in the medication of concentration 1%. 

    Other inactive components of this medication are butylated hydroxytoluene, edetate disodium, poloxamer 407, hexylene glycol, carbomer 934P, polysorbate 40, polyethylene glycol 400, tromethamine, butylated hydroxyanisole, ascorbic acid and purified water. Tazorac gel is used as a topical treatment of conditions such as acne and psoriasis.

    This medication should not come in contact with your eyes or mouth. If the medication is taken orally it may cause similar complications that are associated with excessive intake of vitamin-A. If oral administration of this medication occurs, the patient should be monitored under medical care.
