  • Acne surgery: Some facts

Acne surgery is mostly considered as the last treatment option. This is because; it is supposed to be used only when the acne is of very severe form. Mild and moderate acne can be treated using medications, acne creams and such other remedies.

Thus, in case of severe acne the most popular types of acne surgery are acne laser surgery and acne plastic surgery. However, acne laser surgery is better as compared to plastic surgery. But when surgery is the option left for you, you are required to talk to your dermatologist first. And only when he personally feels that home treatments, topical medications won’t work, you must move ahead.

While undergoing acne surgery, it is vital that the surgeon who carries out the procedure is quite experienced. Also, there must be frank discussion between the surgeon and the patient in connection to costs, side effects, risks and benefits of acne surgery. There are so many options that are there for acne surgery. The one which suits the patient the most must be adopted.
Some of the common side effects that may occur after surgery are infections, blood clotting, and numbness in the area of treatment. However, these side effects go away within some days or weeks post surgery.
