Acne on sensitive skin: Some useful facts
- Avoid nonprescription acne medicines as benzoyl peroxide, alpha-hydroxy-acid (AHA) and beta-hydroxy-acid (BHA) works by using acids to increase scurf in the skin. If you have sensitive skin just avoid these medication as the high amounts of these chemicals can leads to inflammation, titillating and a burning sensation. Sometimes it may also aggravate the acne infection.
- Avoid skin cleansers having physical exfoliates like sand or peach pits. These will cause irritation in your sensitive skin and also worsen the acne to more red.
- Use a castile soap to cleanse your soap, use it in a smooth and gentle way. As castile soaps are made up of pure vegetable oils, it moisturizes your skin.
- Wash your face two times daily especially in morning and evening.
- Find a salicylic acid-based treatment as it is one of the best medicine to treat acne with sensitive skin.
- You can even supplement a salicylic acid treatment using natural acne medications. Many people find natural acne remedies as it has no side effects and it helps to sooth their sensitive skin and at the same time it also increases the power of salicylic acid. Commonly used natural remedies are witch hazel which help to sooth your skin and aloe vera which help to cure the acne scars.
